Just a day before the release of Aadai, Amala Paul ruffled with women outfits in Tamil Nadu.
Rajeshwari Priya, the founder of Anaithu Makkal Katchi, had filed a complaint against the makers of Aadai for promoting nudity and spoiling Tamil culture. Now, weeks after the release of the movie and fetching positive reviews, Amala Paul was honoured at an event in Chennai.
She was invited as the special guest for the inauguration of KCG Verghese International Film Festival and was praised for her amazing act in the bold film Aadai.
When asked about the controversy regarding banning of the movie, Amala told reporters that she is happy with all the happenings. “Before release there were so many negativity with regard to the content of the movie. The ban and release stalling turned out to be positive and was more like promotion for the movie,” she said.
She also revealed that many who criticised her strongly for doing the nude act, came personally and applauded her guts to take the role. “After watching the movie many women came forward and told that there was no need for the film to get A certificate and label it in that terms. It's good for the film as long as we have a healthy debate over the matter,” she added.
Amala also mentioned that more than female oriented films, she wants to do plot oriented movies.
Rajeshwari Priya, had earlier said that she can't prevent the release of Aadai since the censor board has approved of the film with an A certificate but she is against the promotions. She said that the promos will be seen by all people irrespective of the age and that will nurture negative thoughts in young minds.
Directed by Rathnakumar, Aadai is receiving terrific response from the audiences.
