Emmy Awards 2019 winners list: Game of Thrones is Best Series Drama, Fleabag emerges on top

Peter Dinklage in GOT

Television's biggest awards night kicked off in LA. So far, Barry's Bill Hader has taken home the best lead actor in a comedy series just like last year, and a stunned Phoebe Waller-Bridge took out best lead actress in a comedy series.

Game of Thrones wrapped up its run with an Emmy for best drama series -- and 12 total for its final season.

Fleabag pulled one of the biggest surprises of the night, sweeping the prizes for best comedy, best actress in a comedy, as well as best writing and directing.

Interestingly, just like Feburary's Oscars, the three-hour stage is a no-host show. The Television Academy’s 24,000-plus voters had two weeks in August to pick their favourites.
