Ruhani Sharma is Kamala, first-look poster revealed

While the buzz around Ranjith Sankar's upcoming movie 'Kamala' has been gaining momentum, all eyes have been on its likely female lead so far.

The trailer which was released a week ago barely revealed the leading lady's face, though a glimpse of the actress was seen.

Earlier, in an interview with Onmanorama, director Ranjith Sankar himself had said that he will make an official announcement soon.

On Saturday evening, the director took to his social networking pages and released the first-look poster.

Kamala is played by Ruhani Sharma.

“Proudly presenting Ruhani Sharma as Kamala, Fiza, Shanthi, Bimala kumari etc etc...,” he wrote on Facebook.

Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Ruhani began her career as a model and made her acting debut with a Punjabi movie. She was later seen in the Tamil movie 'Kadaisi Bench Karthi' in 2017 and will also be seen in the upcoming Hindi movie 'Agra'.

"Kamala is one of the most risky scripts in my career till now and this particular character is the most complicated one. Ruhani has managed to stun me by every means," Ranjith Sankar remarked.

The movie which features Aju Varghese in the lead is slated to hit screens by November.
