After the successful superhero test with wrestling superstar The Great Khali, Minnal Murali is facing cricketer Yuvraj Singh. If the Great Khali had tested Murali’s strength, the cricketer gave Murali tasks that proved his lightning speed. Minnal Murali, who wants to become an American superhero, is taking part in a series of tests and tasks to prove his incredible power. In this video, Yuvraj gives Murali the task of hitting sixes in all the six balls of an over. However, the catch is that he has to bowl, bat and retrieve the balls all by himself. The massive sixes that Murali hit flew to various parts of the country including Mumbai and Jaipur. The last ‘six’ was so powerful and fast that it flew all the way to Abu Dhabi.
‘Minnal Murali’ in which young star Tovino dons a superhero’s robe will have a world premiere on 24 December in Netflix. The unique promotional videos have already become viral on social media. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan would be joining Minnal Murali in the last part of the video series.
‘Minnal Murali’ is the story of Jaison, a simpleton who gets superpowers after being struck by lightning. Interestingly, the story takes place in the 1990s. ‘Minnal Murali’ is directed by Basil Joseph after the sports entertainer ‘Godha’. The big-budget movie takes the credit for being the first superhero movie in Malayalam. Besides Malayalam, ‘Minnal Murali’ is released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
‘Minnal Murali’ is bankrolled by Sophia Paul for the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. Tamil actor Guru Somasundaram who played noted roles in movies like ‘Jigarthanda’ and ‘Joker’ too essays a pivotal character in the movie. Moreover, ‘Minnal Murali’ boasts of an ensemble cast of Aju Varghese, Baiju, Harisree Ashokan and Femina George. Ariun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew have jointly penned the script.
Meanwhile, the camera is cranked by Sameer Thahir. The songs composed by Shan Rahman have already become hits. Noted stunt choreographer Vlad Rimburg who had worked in blockbusters like Batman, Baahubali and Sulthan has coordinated two mega action sequences in the film. Andrew D’cruz is the VFX supervisor of ‘Minnal Murali’. Manu Jagath is the production designer.
