Mohanlal is expected to join the sets of Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited ‘Jailer 2’ in December. Though the dates haven’t been officially announced, industry sources indicate that the Malayalam superstar is likely to shoot for a couple of days starting December 2 for the Nelson-directed sequel. He is then expected to return to his Malayalam commitments before heading back to the ‘Jailer 2’ sets from December 21 to 24.
According to a report from IANS, the film has already sparked major buzz, especially with reports that Vijay Sethupathi has begun shooting his portions in Goa. These developments come even as Rajinikanth had earlier mentioned that the shoot would extend until December. The momentum around the project intensified when Sun Pictures released a quirky, engaging teaser, and actress Ramya Krishnan shared a glimpse from her first day on set at Attappadi, where she reprises her role as Vijaya Pandian.
The sequel has naturally drawn huge interest thanks to the massive success of the first part, which grossed around Rs 650 crore worldwide. Shooting for the second instalment began in Chennai on March 10.
The report also suggests that Mirnaa, who plays Swetha Pandian, Rajinikanth’s daughter-in-law, will have a pivotal role in the sequel. Anirudh returns as composer after delivering one of the biggest soundtracks of the first film.
