The melody ‘Enthanennodonnum’ from the Malayalam movie 'Goal' continues to sound as fresh and captivating as ever, even 18 years after its release. Aksha Pardasany, the female lead of this 2007 campus drama directed by Kamal, recently opened up about the movie’s incredible success and the special place the song holds in her heart.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Aksha recalls the overwhelming love she’s received from Malayalis over the years, even long after the movie’s release. She shared a transition video, where she first appears in a stylish outfit, before seamlessly switching into a stunning saree, with ‘Enthanennodonnum’ playing in the background. The song’s nostalgic melody sparked fond memories for her fans in Kerala, and Aksha took a moment to thank them for keeping the song alive and trending on social media.
In her heartfelt post, Aksha wrote:
“If Goal was made today… Ever grateful for the love I’ve received and continue to receive for this film and this song. Even after all these years, the song is still trending. You all know how to keep your art alive and keep it close to your heart. Forever thankful for what this film did for me, and for all the doors it opened. My Kerala peeps, this one’s for you.”
Aksha made her Malayalam debut with Goal, a film that also introduced several newcomers. The movie’s soundtrack, composed by the legendary Vidyasagar, featured the unforgettable “Enthanennodonnum,” sung by Shwetha Mohan and Devanand, which became an instant hit. At the time, Aksha was just a class 10 student, yet she delivered a memorable performance as the film’s lead.
Following Goal, she made a cameo in the Malayalam film Bangles and went on to star in over 20 films and web series across various South Indian languages, including successful Telugu films like Yuvatha, Ride, and Kandeereega.
