Sushmita wore gown made out of curtain cloth for Miss India final

Actress Sushmita Sen was crowned the winner of Miss India and Miss Universe in 1994. But do you know the early story of the middle-class girl from Delhi who went on to become the most beautiful woman in the universe.

While she won hearts with her beauty and brains at the gala, there's a secret that the world is perhaps unaware of. During the finale of Miss India 1994, the diva wore a gown made out of a curtain cloth as she could not afford an expensive one.

Apparently, Sushmita got her finale gown stitched by a local tailor and the gloves she wore were also made from socks.

Well, sounds like Sushmita’s path to success is similar to that of the famed fairy tale character Cinderella.

As an aside, a person named Aishwarya Rai was the first runner-up in the Miss India finale held in Goa!
