Losing one's friends or family to death is devastating.

The demise of actor-turned-politician, Ambareesh is one such loss for lyricist and writer Sreekumaran Thampi. He reminisced his cherished moments with his dearest friend on Facebook and also shared a photograph with him from the location of the 1982 movie 'Gaanam'.

Here is what Sreekumaran Thampi noted about his friend Ambareesh.

“Ambareesh passed away. The hero Aravindakshan Bhagavathar - from my movie Gaanam, which I consider as my best. He also played the lead role in the movie 'Onthe Raktham', which I directed and produced in Kannada. His real name was M H Amarnath. Sumalatha, his wife has also acted in my movie 'Munnetam' opposite to Mammootty in 1981. Dearest Ambi, we shall meet on that beautiful shore soon.” (sic.)

Ambareesh was a popular actor during the 80s. It was Sreekumaran Thampi who introduced him to Malayalam.

Ambareesh died after a cardiac arrest in a hospital in Bangalore on Saturday night. He was undergoing treatment for several ailments. Popular actor Sumalatha is his wife.
