Why singer Chithra feels a void?

Even after eight years, playback singer Chithra seems yet to come to terms with her daughter's untimely demise.

Remembering her death, Chithra took to social media sharing a grief note.

“Birth and death are not in our hands. Time flies away and the memories are etched in the mind. Life feels empty and sad. Missing you Nandana,” (sic. ) she wrote captioning with an old photo of the little one smiling her heart out.

Chitra lost her eight-year-old daughter in a swimming pool accident in Dubai on April 14, 2011. Chitra had been to Dubai along with her family members to perform in AR Rahman's music show and was staying in a villa there when the girl drowned.

Nandana, a differently abled child, fell into the pool while playing. She was born in 2002, 15 years after Chitra and Vijayashankar's marriage.

A devotee of Hindu god Krishna, Chitra had named her daughter after she got an award from the Kerala government for her song in the Malayalam movie 'Nandanam'.
