Renowned percussionist Sivamani offered prayers at the Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala recently. The drummer, who visited the temple for the ninth consecutive year, reached the Sannidhanam along with his team and offered prayers in the morning. He then performed for the devotees at the Sannidhanam auditorium.
Noted keyboardist Prakash Ulliyeri and his troupe joined the concert, which began with blowing the conch shell. Meanwhile, singer Devadas rendered a few devotional songs praising Lord Ayyappa. Hundreds of devotees who attended the concert erupted in jubilation when Sivamani performed a few tricks with his drum sticks.

Sivamani climbed Sabarimala after observing vratham for a month. The percussionist had arrived for the annual pilgrimage from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. “Lord Ayyappa is everything to me. Coming for the darshan during the Mandala season (41-day pilgrimage season) has become a part of my life. I get the energy to sustain myself for a year from Sabarimala,” Sivamani said.
