Now, Ola is ready to give Uber Eats a run for their money

Thiruvananthapuram: Ola Cabs, the Indian online transportation company is all set to make its debut in the online food delivery service as well. They will apparently be taking on their rival app Uber Eats, to treat the natives of Thiruvananthapuram to some delicious dishes at their homes itself. Food Panda, Ola's online food delivery platform has already begun their operation in the city on an experimental note.

It was in last December that Ola took over the operations of Foodpanda, a German online food delivery service, in India. Besides Ola and Uber, Zomato and Swiggy too have made inroads into the online food delivery service in the capital city.

It is estimated that the number of the delivery agents operating in the city would go up to 5000 since 4 major food platforms became active here. Foodpanda, which was started in Germany, 6 years ago, offers its services in more than 10 countries now. In all the other countries, except India, the online food delivery scene is dominated by another German firm called the Delivery Hero.

Not just big hotels, the small makeshift shops which serve delicious food too are members of the Uber Eats. Mackachiyude Payasakada, which functions on the footpath near the Vellayambalam junction, is a favourite among the fans of the online food delivery services. Tasty payasam could easily be ordered via Uber Eats and enjoy it comfortably at your own homes. The hotels can register online to become members of these major online food platforms.
