Kochi: Former minister A C Moideen will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday.

Moideen, a minister in the previous Pinarayi Vijayan government, informed the agency that he cannot appear for questioning as he has to attend the orientation classes for MLAs.

He is on the ED scanner for his alleged link with the prime accused in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam.

According to sources, Moideen has been advised by his lawyers to seek anticipatory bail as they assume that the ED might arrest him after the questioning.

He had appeared for the first stage of questioning earlier. The ED had asked him to produce documents of his investments. The agency had frozen some of the investments.

It is learned that his response to the questions about one of the investments was not satisfactory.
