Malappuram native Saidalavi’s brand new house in Kondotty is a classic example of chic and elegant colonial architectural style. The owner, who is an admirer of the colonial style, wanted his house to stand out from the rest with its incredible features.
There is a living area, dining space, kitchen and 4 bed rooms in this aesthetically appealing 2900 sqft mansion. Vitrified tiles with matte finish are paved on the floor in all the main areas in the interiors. Tiles in wooden finish too are used to skillfully separate the spaces.
Truss work is done over a flat roof and shingles are paved on it to make it look classy. The space in between can be turned into an excellent utility area as well. Since the sun light doesn’t directly fall on the roof, the temperature wouldn’t soar inside the house and a pleasant atmosphere is always maintained.
The interiors designed in the open style makes the house look more spacious and elegant. Besides, it ensures good ventilation as well. A living space, dining area, courtyard and the stair way complete the main hall. There is a side courtyard beside the formal living area, which is decorated with pebbles and indoor plants.
All the bedrooms are bath attached with built-in wardrobes. A separate breakfast counter is arranged in the kitchen. The false ceiling in gypsum and the profile lighting adds to charm of the interiors. The elegant features of the exteriors get further enhanced when all the lights outside are switched on at night.
