Exploring actress Prayaga Martin’s dream abode
Prayaga believes her new house has brought her luck in the form of blockbuster movies she had acted in.

Actress Prayaga Martin who wowed the Malayali movie goers with her performances in hit movies like Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan and Ramaleela is very much excited to talk about her dream abode. Her elegant flat, whose interiors are tastefully arranged, is at the Seiken Eastend Apartments in Kaloor, Kochi. Prayaga’s flat is designed in the sky villa model, which doesn’t share its wall with any other flats in the complex. This gives enough privacy for the family members and is as cozy and comfortable as an individual house.

Prayaga’s father Martin is a well known builder and mother Jiji is interested in interior designing. Spaces have been used wisely in this flat and even the smaller areas carry enough facilities. There is a formal living area, dining space, 3 bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen in this 2000 sqft flat.

A variety of unique and beautiful curios which were collected from around the world are neatly arranged in the formal living area. As soon as one enters the flat, the eyes would naturally be drawn to these curios and decors.

“For us, a house should have lots of positive energy inside. Those who live in the house and also the guests who visit should be able to share that positive energy. It definitely would influence our personality and career in a favorable way. We have given prime importance to positivity while we designed this house,” says Prayaga about her dwelling.

Prayaga was born and brought up at her father’s ancestral home at Elamakkara. It’s only been 7 years since the family moved to this beautiful apartment. Prayaga believes that her new house brought her incredible luck in the form of blockbuster movies.

“This flat is designed in the ash, grey and white themes, which are our favorite colors. This unique combination can be seen in the designs on the floor, furniture, ceiling and color of the walls,” adds Prayaga’s mother Jiji who loves to deck up her home.

The formal living area is simple, and a painting in green color which adorns the wall is a significant feature here. Various awards and mementos won by Prayaga are proudly exhibited near the living room. A TV unit completes this area. A small garden has been artistically maintained at the space behind the glass doors on the opposite side.

The dining table is small and can comfortably accommodate the family. A crockery shelf and a bar counter add to the charm of the dining area. The wall cladding with natural stones and the semi open balcony which opens to the enchanting scenes of the vibrant city are the highlights here.

“This balcony is in fact one of my favorite spaces. Along with the amazing sights of Kochi, lots of natural light and fresh air comes in through the sliding glass window. I love to enjoy the rains from here, and the gliding Kochi metro offers the perfect backdrop,” says Prayaga.

There is a prayer area beside this, and it is designed at a level higher from the floor. Tiles in wooden finish separate the prayer area from the rest of the house.

The cupboards in the kitchen are done in the green white theme. Though the kitchen looks small, there are ample spaces for storage. A breakfast counter too is arranged here. There is a small work area beside the kitchen, and a wardrobe style storage unit is a highlight here. The door of the refrigerator is decorated with many interesting curios.

For Prayaga, her most favorite space in the house is her own room, which the actress has decorated herself. All the trophies and awards which she has won from the school itself are neatly arranged in a shelf here. An ardent fan of Micheal Jackson, Prayaga has decorated her room with many MJ posters as well. A dream catcher hung above the bed is a unique feature here. Importance is given to storage facilities, and the floor to ceiling wardrobe is a perfect addition in the bed room.

There is a balcony which lets in cool breeze into Prayaga’s bedroom through the sliding glass door. “Whenever I am home, I love to spend most of my time at this balcony. I can see the Kaloor church from here and listen to the soothing sound of the tolling church bell. All my tensions would evaporate if I spent a few peaceful minutes here by enjoying the cool breeze,” explains Prayaga.

Prayaga, who is quite busy with a handful of movies, is a post graduate student of travel and tourism at St. Theresa’s College. The family loves to spent time together at their beautiful abode which they have aptly named ‘Gift of God’.
