“Owing to my career and business enterprises, I would be travelling for most of the year. My home, for me, is one factor which always compels me to get back to. The earth beckons everything back into its loving bosom. That is the reason why we long to come back to our roots, no matter wherever we are. I named my house ‘Earth’ because I felt such an emotional attachment to my home,” Beena explains the unique yet fitting name of her house.

The elevation of the house is done in classic – royal theme. Mud tiles paved on the elaborate roof shed a royal grandeur to the entire house. Elaborate interiors and lavish exteriors complemented by lawn and the lush green nature, render the house a majestic ambiance. The elegant landscaping is the highlight which elevates the stylish look of the house.

Every feature in the interiors of the house is designed and decorated with elan. From the exquisite Italian marbles paved on the floor, to the linen curtain and charming wall papers pasted in the bedroom walls are all imported. They play a prominent role in enhancing the charm of the house. “I often visit Rajasthan and other North Indian states in search of unique apparels and get floored by the interiors of the royal courts there. I have tried to imitate those features in my house as well,” says Beena.

One can enter the house from the porch through a small patio. The formal living area is stylish and is elegantly done. The living space has been extended to the next door hall as well to welcome more number of guests. The furniture, in metallic finish, adds to the magnificence of the interiors.

The courtyard is one of the most striking features in the indoors. Smooth, shiny pebbles are paved here, and the plants and bushes arranged in the courtyard bring about nature into the house. Walls are decorated with beautiful claddings, exclusive paintings and art works. The pooja room is right beside the courtyard. This is a space to sit and relax, taking in all the positive energy that pervades inside the house.

There are 5 bedrooms in this three storied house. An elevator has also been installed in the house. Each bedroom has been decorated as per the tastes and preferences of the family members. There is a mini living area beside every bedroom. The beautiful wall paper which has intricate pink floral designs is the most striking feature in Beena Kannan’s bedroom. This room is designed to suit the needs of a business woman who is active 24 hours a day. A table and console too has been arranged here for her to work at home.

Beena is a fitness enthusiast who likes to hit the gym whenever she can. So a modern gym has been set inside the house for her to work out.

On the first floor is a swimming pool built near the gym and the space ensures enough privacy. The gazebo on the terrace is one of the favorite spaces of Beena Kannan, where she loves to spend some time relaxing and enjoying festivities and spiritual atmosphere of the nearby Dattatreya temple.

The dining area is spacious, and an extra dining space has been arranged near the pantry kitchen to host guests. An outhouse to lodge employees is built close to the house.

Beena Kannan’s Earth is truly a wonderland which exudes charm and royal elegance.
