Neryamangalam is an incredibly beautiful village on the banks of Periyar River. This valley, which lies close to the Idukki district is the place which receives the maximum amount of rainfall in Kerala. It was the impeccable natural beauty of Neryamangalam which drew Shiju John and his family to build their dream dwelling here. They had roped in Linson Jolly of the E - Spectrum Interiors to design their perfect abode.
The house had to be smartly designed to suit the unique geographical features and climatic conditions of the area. Though the family wanted their house to feature the elegant charm of the contemporary architecture style, the elevation couldn’t be built with a flat roof design as the area is prone to heavy showers. So, the exteriors of this house have been designed by projecting the contemporary style while cleverly incorporating some traditional features as well.
The vast landscape and the lush green nature project the scintillating beauty of this house. The rainwater doesn’t flood the front yard as channels are built for it to flow away and be stored. This majestic house, in 2800 sq ft area, stands in a vast 30 cents plot.
The aesthetically designed interiors are incredibly cozy and welcoming as well.
The unique design patterns on the false ceiling, elegant light fittings and the designer couches makes the formal living area look extremely regal. A half partition wall separates the living and the dining areas. The dining table can easily accommodate six persons. A wall here is highlighted using beautiful artistic works. The wash counter is arranged beneath the stair way, adjacent to the dining space.
There are five bedrooms which are designed in unique themes that reflect the interests of the family members. The square-shaped and the round-shaped design patterns on the ceiling and the unique headboards make the bedrooms stand out. All the bedrooms are bath attached with wardrobes and separate dressing spaces as well.
The stair area is in double height making it look amazingly vast. The pergola above it welcomes lots of pleasant sunshine which lights up the interiors. A small courtyard has been arranged by paving artificial grass. The indoor plants bring a slice of nature into the house.
The stairway leads to the upper living area where a TV unit has been arranged. An open book shelf here is an eye-catching feature.
The kitchen is spacious and well-designed. The beautiful ceiling and the pleasant lighting makes the kitchen look extremely luxurious. Nano white is paved on the counter top. The cupboards here are made in multi-wood with glossy finish laminates. Besides the show kitchen, there is an adjacent working kitchen as well.
Decor features like elegant wall papers, stunning lamination works and classy lighting play vital roles in making the interiors spaces look spectacular.
The designer proudly says that each space in this house has been designed to suit the interests and preferences of the family members. The impeccable trust and cooperation between the client and the designer could be clearly perceived in the smart designing and the mesmerizing look of this house.
