The vastu sastra clearly gives instructions regarding the position or location of kennels, cattle sheds or cages where you keep your favorite pet animals. The pet houses must be positioned where it doesn’t cause any vedha dosha or afflictions.
Kennels or cattle sheds shouldn’t be installed in the corners of the plot or at 45 degree angle from the main structure. The vastu sets stricter rules when it comes to cattle sheds where milking cows are housed.
In such cases, the shed should be constructed to the west of the house in such a way that the cow would stand facing the house. If the cowshed is on the east side, its entrance should be towards the west, in a way which makes the cows face the house.
Kennels where dogs are kept should be installed in the north side of the house. However, it should neither be right in front of the entrance of the house nor in the corners. It could be on the sides, preferably in the north side.
