This Ernakulam house in 6 cents has many surprises inside

Joseph had owned a 6 cents plot at Kavaraparambu in the Ernakulam district in Kerala. This rectangular plot with a well on one side looked congested and posed a major challenge when he decided to build his dream dwelling here. However, architect Sebin Stephen is proud that he could draw a perfect plan by overcoming all the odds and also by catering to the likes and preferences of the family members. The amazing designs of the exteriors make the house look huge, even though it is built on a smaller plot. A beautiful blend of flat and sloped roof and stylish pergolas add panache to the elevation.

There is a car porch, sit out, formal living area, dining space, kitchen with an adjacent work area upper living space and four bedrooms in this stylish house designed in 1920 sqft. The interiors are designed in the semi open style. The walls and the flooring don the classy shade of off - white which makes the spaces look vaster. Vitrified tiles in lighter shades are paved on the floor in the common areas. Meanwhile, black granites are used in the sit out and the stairway too.

From the car porch and the quaint sit out, one could enter the formal living area of the house. A C shaped couch and the TV unit are arranged in the formal living area. The prayer area too is arranged here by highlighting a wall with wooden paneling. The huge windows in the main hall, designed in double height, bring lots of natural light and fresh air into the house.

The double heighted roof of the dining hall makes it well lit and vaster as well. The dining table can comfortably accommodate up to eight persons. An adjacent pantry counter and a crockery shelf complete the dining area.

The hand railings of the stairway feature the classic combination of wood and toughened glass. The hand railings extend as a study space in the upper living area.

Glass paneling is done on vertical louvers, in the balcony, to invite natural sunshine into the interiors.

The bath attached bedrooms have in - built wardrobes, made in plywood – veneer finish, for storage.

The charming color combination of black and white makes the kitchen stand out. The cupboards here are done in plywood – mica finish. Meanwhile, the counter top is paved with granite.

This stunning house, with its beautiful and meticulous designs, overcomes the spatial limitations in the most amazing way.
