Raju’s brand new house at Pookattupadi in Ernakulam, Kerala draws attention for its minimalistic elegance. The structure and the interiors feature the chic contemporary architectural styles. Flat roof and the sun shades make the exteriors stand out. The classic color combination of black and white lends a mesmerizing look to the elevation. The box shaped designs and the unique compound wall enhances the overall look of the house.
The entrance door opens to the foyer space. The formal living area is to the right side of the foyer. Meanwhile, the family living area is arranged on the left side. Over – the – top designs or décor are not used to decorate these spaces. As it is difficult to maintain an inner courtyard, it is arranged outside, beside the car porch and the sit out.
The prayer area which is close to the stairway is the highlight of the interiors. One could enter the courtyard from the dining space. This elegantly designed space is the perfect spot to spend some tranquil moments in the evening. Motorized rolling shutters are installed near the verandah which gives privacy for the family members, especially in the night.
Lighter shades of hues that are pleasant to the eyes are used on the walls in the interiors. The staircase features an elegant combination of wood and steel.
There are 4 bedrooms in this house. These normal sized bedrooms have wardrobe units and cupboards for storage and study areas as well.
Ironing cum study area has been arranged at the upper landing of the stairway. Besides, there is a living area and two bedrooms in the upper storey. You could enter the balcony from one of these bedrooms. The open terrace is covered using sheet.
The kitchen area comprises of a show kitchen, working kitchen and a servant’s room. Nano white is paved on the counter top. The shutters of the kitchen cabinets are done in hypo glass with laminate finish. Laminate has been used for the timber works as well.
