Harikrishnan, a native of Chengannur, wanted his brand new house to feature an eye-catching blend of traditional and contemporary architectural styles. Moreover, the family insisted that the house should be designed strictly based on the rules of the vastusastra.

A part of the roof is sloped and is paved with tiles. Meanwhile, the rest of the roof area is flat. Natural stone claddings and textures are added to highlight the unique features of the exteriors. This amazing design pattern is continued on the boundary wall as well.

This spectacular house, designed in 2818 sq ft area, has a car porch, sit out, living and dining areas, kitchen with an adjacent work area, upper living area, pooja space and four bedrooms. The rooms and spaces are arranged following the vastu rules. The positions of the windows are determined to ensure excellent cross ventilation. So, the atmosphere inside the house is extremely pleasant and comfortable.

The living – dining areas are designed in the open theme. The curio shelf here acts as a semi partition as well. White vitrified tiles are paved on the floor. Besides making the interiors look incredibly vaster, this grants a regal charm to the spaces.

A beautiful curved couch decorates the formal living area. A wall here is highlighted using attractive wall paper.

The pergola skylight on the double heighted roof above the stairway brings lots of natural sunshine into the house. Meanwhile, the hand railings of the stairway feature the elegant combination of stainless steel and glass. Tiles are paved on the steps as well.

The kitchen is furnished in the classic white and wooden theme. The cabinets are done in marine plywood with mica finish. A breakfast counter completes the kitchen area.

The bedrooms are bath attached with wardrobes and separate dressing spaces. The false ceiling in veneer finish, the plywood paneling and the beautiful wall papers make the bedrooms extravagant and scintillating.

The solar plant on the roof produces the electricity that is required to run the house. The family is proud and happy that they got a spectacular house just like they had dreamed.
