Joseph Abraham and his family who are settled abroad had always dreamed of building a house of their own in their hometown in Chengannur, Kerala. They wanted a beautiful house with four bedrooms and other modern facilities. Architect Sonu Joy deserves credit for designing such a spectacular house on the 13 cents plot by catering to the likes and aspirations of the family.

Show walls in box shapes are the highlights of the exteriors. The box on the upper storey dons the serene white hue while the one near the porch is clad with wooden tiles. This contrast is eye-catching and instantly draws the attention. Seats have been arranged in the landscape to relax and leisurley hours.

The house, designed in 2950 sq ft, has a car porch, sit-out, living and dining areas, kitchen with a work area, four bedrooms and an open terrace. The interiors are designed in minimal style without overcrowding the spaces with decors and other furnishing. White vitrified tiles are paved on the floor. Besides, wooden tiles are used as a highlighter and also act as pointers to each space in the house.

As the interiors are designed in the open theme, one could easily catch a glimpse of the backside of the house from the living room itself. Windows line both the sides to make cross ventilation easier. The bay window in the living area is also used a sitting space. The beautiful semi-partition feature, done by installing plywood paneling on concrete frame, gives enough privacy to the living area.

The handrails of the stairway feature the classic combination of stainless steel and glass. A pergola opening on the first landing draws in natural light to illuminate the dining area and the upper living space. The simple dining table can accommodate up to six people. An adjacent crockery unit completes the dining area.

There are two bedrooms each in both the floors. The bedrooms look similar as they are designed elegantly in simple style. The wardrobes, cots and the dressing spaces are done in marine plywood lamination. All the bedrooms are bath-attached as well.

Besides a modular kitchen, there is a working kitchen as well. The kitchen is furnished using marine plywood with PU white paint finish. Meanwhile, red granite has been paved on the counter top. A pantry country that opens to the dining area too is part of the spacious kitchen.

Though this extremely stylish house looks like a luxury mansion from the outside, the interiors mesmerizes with minimal designs, amazing facilities and simple yet elegant furnishing.
