This fabulous house at Vadodara in Gujarat is not just a usual abode to live in but is also a commercial space that generates decent revenue for the owner. The house was built without dismantling the structure that had already stood on the plot. A bank had already been functioning in the building that stood on the 8 cents plot that has roads running through both the sides. Meanwhile, the new double storey house was built without dismantling this existing building. Though the family had initially thought of dismantling the building, they had changed their decision when the architect came up with a brilliant plan. Building a brand new house would have pushed the family into unnecessary financial stress. Besides, it would have caused a blow to the environment as well. So, an interesting design was created to accommodate a new house above the already existing building.
The elevation features the elegant contemporary style. The structure looks as if boxes of different sizes have been arranged in perfect symmetrical patterns. The local cladding pattern makes the elevation stand out. The exterior cladding in clay tiles is quite interesting. Besides granting an enchanting look to the exteriors, this clay tile cladding act as a thermal insulation to protect the structure from severe heat.
The compound wall and the gate perfectly complement the contemporary theme of the house. Pergola has been used as a roof above the car porch while the glass ceiling looks classy on the parapet wall. Though the house looks like a two storey structure from the outside, it actually has three floors. The exteriors, meanwhile, don the classic color combination of white and grey hues.
The bank functions in the base level. Besides, there is a parking lot and an elevator here. Meanwhile, there is a foyer, formal and family living areas, pooja space, balcony, dining area, kitchen, powder room and an adjacent bathroom and the master bedroom in the first floor. The kids’ bedroom, one more bedroom, upper living area, open terrace and balcony are part of the next floor. The house that has all the modern amenities has been designed in 2500 sqft.
One could enter the house through the foyer which leads to the living area. Common areas like foyer, formal and family living areas and the dining space have double height ceiling. The formal living area, meanwhile, is furnished with minimal yet classy furniture pieces. Couch sets enhanced with fabric upholstery and the elegant coffee table perfectly matches the general theme of the house. Exquisite kota stones have been used for flooring in the entire house. Meanwhile, the furniture is mostly made in wood and plywood.
A small courtyard has been arranged close to the dining table. The skylight on the ceiling here illuminates the courtyard with natural sunshine. This also helps in filling the interiors with natural light. Attractive hanging lights and wooden ceiling make the dining area extremely eye catching.
Four bedrooms have been arranged in two floors in this house. Each bedroom is designed based on unique color themes. The headboards feature classic leather padding. Enough storage facilities and separate dressing spaces too are arranged in all the bedrooms. Moreover, the bath attached bedrooms have separate reading spaces as well.
The L-shaped kitchen is modern and boasts of all the facilities. The wooden cabinets and the counter top paved with artificial stone make the kitchen area extremely efficient. This splendid house is the perfect example of a well planned and smartly designed structure that gives the comfort of a fabulous abode while generating income.
