Actress Vishnupriya has charmed the Keralite audience with a handful of memorable roles on the silver screen and in the mini screen too. The actress, who is settled in Dubai after tying the knot, shares her favourite memories from her childhood homes.

“I lived with my parents and two elder brothers. Though my parents hail from Mavelikkara, I and my brothers were born and brought up in Bahrain. We completed our schooling and higher education there. So, my memories of a childhood home are mostly from our flat in Bahrain.

“However, we were always thrilled to fly back to our ancestral place during the holidays. I still remember those amazing days when all of us had gathered together. My father passed away four years ago. Later, we purchased a house in Aluva and settled there. My eldest brother is a pilot at Ethihad Airways while the other one runs an event management business. Now, everyone is settled at different places. I really miss the days when all of us lived together in the flat. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to those days,” says Vishnupriya.

Vishupriya had actively participated in arts and cultural events since childhood. She had won many prizes in dance and drama competitions in school. However, she says she lost touch with everything once she entered college. “My mother had wished to see me in television. So, I participated in a dance reality show. Later, I was cast in the movie ‘Speed Track’ through a family friend. I had played the role of the heroine’s friend in the movie which starred Dileep in the lead role. It was in the film Keralotsavam that I debuted as a lead actress. Meanwhile, I had worked as an anchor, actress and judge in many television shows. Tamil thriller V1 was the last movie in which I had acted,” notes the actress.

Vishnupriya tied the knot with Vijay Vinayan who runs a business based in Dubai. He is the son of noted producer East Coast Vijayan. After marriage, Vishnupriya too joined her husband in Dubai. The actress says life in Dubai was amazing until Covid 19 made a sour entry. Now, she spends her time mostly in the flat that the couple had recently purchased. She says she doesn’t feel bored as she loves every nook and corner of the flat.

“I have acted in very few movies and was active in the mini screen for a short period of time. Despite this, people have recognized me in the streets of Dubai and often express their love. Now, my greatest dream is to start a dance school. I was planning for that when the pandemic played spoil sport. I am waiting for everything to get back to normal so that I can pursue my dream,” Vishnupriya signs off.
