Suave and luxurious, this renovated Pattambi house is a head turner

Design elements on the elevation that had gone out of trend have been replaced with clean – minimal theme.

Ummer Koppan and his family decided to give their house near the Shornur – Pattambi national highway, a modern makeover, when the house which is a decade and a half old, began showing signs of dilapidation. Now, the new house looks as grand and elegant as the old one which too had attracted attention for its unique features.

Design elements on the elevation that had gone out of trend have been replaced with clean – minimal theme. Textures, louvre, glass and claddings make the elevation look chic and modern. The landscape too has been redesigned to complement the stylish look of the renovated structure. Interestingly, beautiful landscape takes up a significant area in the 25 cents land.

The structure, now, has two façades, on the front and the back sides. The landscape on the back side is incredibly vast. Here, both sides of the driveway are secured with grilles in order to grow the vines. Besides, the cantilever car porch on the back side is simple yet stylish.

The interiors have been rearranged to give the areas a refreshed look and feel. There were lots of interior walls in the old structure. Most of these redundant walls were taken down to make the interiors spacious and open. Lots of windows too have been included in the interiors to ensure amazing cross ventilation in the open themed house.

Designed in 4500 sqft, this beautiful mansion has a sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, an Arabic style majlis, kitchen with a work area, five bedrooms and an upper living area.

The mesmerizing ambience of the interiors is the highlight of this house. The glossy furnishing and the warm tone lighting makes the interiors look pleasant and comfortable. The floating style stairway boasts of the grand elegance of teak wood. Metal strips have been installed on the stairway instead of the hand railings. An in – built sitting area too has been arranged close to the stairway.

The readymade furniture in the dining area perfectly suits the theme of the house. The custom made wash area is an eye catching feature here. The gold plated floral designs on honeycomb tiles looks absolutely mind blowing and grants a luxurious ambience too. A majlis in the Arabic theme has been arranged close to the drive way. Double height jalis that feature intricate cut work designs is the highlight here.

The bedrooms are luxurious and have all the modern facilities. Besides a separate dressing unit, there is a walk - in wardrobe too in the master bedroom. Wooden paneling that extends from the head board to the ceiling is an interesting design feature.

New facilities have been added to make the kitchen modern and efficient. Cabinets made in multi wood with acrylic finish have been newly added. A crockery shelf and a quaint breakfast counter too have been recently added, making the kitchen look contemporary.

This house is so fabulous and luxurious that it has gained fame as a major landmark in the area. The owner says that his relatives and friends were in awe when they saw the newly renovated house. The family too is proud that the facelift has truly transformed their house, just as they had wished.
