Faizal’s brand new palatial house at Koduvalli in Kozhikode has been a head turner for its chic designs and colonial grandeur. The uneven layout of the 23 cents plot that lies below the road level was indeed a challenge. Faizal’s siblings too had built their homes close to this plot. So, the family couldn’t think of moving away to a different place. Moreover, they wanted three bedrooms in the ground floor. The architect deserves applauds for designing such a fabulous abode by catering to the needs and likes of the family members.
The elevation features a spectacular fusion of colonial and contemporary architectural styles. The sloped roof is paved with tiles. Colored glass decorations in circular shape on the outer wall grants that perfect colonial vibe. Meanwhile, unique wall titles that feature square shaped designs have been used on the pillars in the car porch and also on the balcony walls. The compound wall too features these beautiful tiles that were imported from Iran.
Designed in 5500 sqft, this magnificent mansion has a car porch, spacious sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area, five bedrooms, and upper living area and a balcony.
The house has lost of amazing spaces where family gatherings could be hosted. A yard space has been specially arranged for the siblings and their families to gather in the evenings. This side yard is designed two steps above the plot level. Meanwhile, the ceiling of the outer sitting space has been done in GI grille with glass finish. Interestingly, one could enter this area from the living and the dining areas through glass sliding doors.
The spacious dining hall in double height is the highlight of the interiors. Glass windows line the walls here to let in lots of natural sunshine. There is no need to switch on the light during the day time as the interiors are always filled with golden sun rays. Moreover, these well illuminated areas exude a pleasant ambience too.
Plywood and veneer paneling, gypsum false ceiling, LED light fittings, attractive curtains, beautiful wall papers and unique curios fill the interiors with a luxurious charm. The grand elegance of the Italian marble elevates the amazing look of the common areas. Meanwhile, the wooden flooring in the bedrooms is an interesting feature. The custom made furniture perfectly suits the mesmerizing ambience of the interiors.
The stairway is done in the classy combination of wood and glass. Meanwhile, the hand railings feature toughened glass. The wood and glass paneling on the double height wall, beside the stairway, looks exquisite.
The bedrooms are exclusively furnished and are as comfortable as a luxurious resort. Each bedroom has been designed in unique theme and ambience. Unique texture works on the head side walls and beautiful paneling works are the eye catching features here.
The modern kitchen is space efficient and boasts of all the modern facilities. A quaint breakfast counter too has been arranged as part of the kitchen.
The housewarming ritual was held in August this year during the pandemic times. Faizal and his family are so happy that they could move into their brand new house, closer to their relatives and siblings.
