Yusuf, an expatriate is happy and proud that he had fulfilled his long-cherished dream of building a house of his own in his hometown in Vailathur, Malappuram, Kerala. Architect Salim deserves credit for designing such a beautiful abode catering to the likes and interests of the family members.
The family wanted the elevation to be eye-catching so that the grand elegance of it could be enjoyed even from a distance. The gobble roof is prominent and easily draws attention. The splendid roof that features a unique blend of flat, curve and slope designs and the attractive colour palette are the highlights of the elevation. The car porch has a curved roof. Cladding work in grey colour on the elevation adds the perfect contrast.
Designed in 3000 sqft, the amazing abode has a car porch, sit out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen and five bedrooms.
The common space has been designed to receive fresh air and natural sunshine abundantly. The entrance door opens to the vast open hall.
The double-height courtyard with a skylight ceiling is the highlight of the interiors. Here, a wall is lined with vertical skylights too. This ensures a pleasant ambience in the interiors.
Marbonite has been paved on the floor. Meanwhile, the furniture is done in plywood with veneer finish.
There are two bedrooms in the ground floor while three are in the upper storey. The bath attached bedrooms have storage facilities too.
The kitchen cabinets are built-in multi wood. The countertop, meanwhile, has been paved with granite. A quaint breakfast counter too has been arranged as part of the kitchen.
Even though Yusuf is an NRI, he flew down a couple of times to oversee the construction. The family is joyous that their dream dwelling has become a landmark in the area.
