Like all expatriates, Nishad too had dreamed of building a house of his own at his hometown in Chanagaramkulam in Malappuram, Kerala. As a first step, he had purchased a 20 cents plot here, years ago. When the right time came, Nishad didn’t hesitate to begin the construction of his dream dwelling on this plot.
He wanted his house to look different from the usual contemporary style houses. So, the elevation dons a modern and chic style with lots of glasses and windows.
The aesthetically designed landscape perfectly complements the fabulous look of the elevation. Meanwhile, tandoor stones too have been paved on the front yard. A small play area has been separated in the backyard.
Designed on 2186 sqft, the graceful abode has a sit out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with an adjacent work area, three bedrooms, study area and a balcony too.
The beautiful outdoor courtyard is the highlight of the exteriors. This area is decorated with attractive indoor plants that fill the adjacent sit out with positive vibes. The interiors are designed in the semi open style. This along with the double height spaces makes the house look and feel incredibly spacious.
Kota stones have been paved on the floor in this house. Meanwhile, the custom made furniture suits the general theme of the house.
There are green courtyards on both sides of the dining area. The indoor plants in these double height courtyards bring a hint of pleasant greenery into the house. Meanwhile, shiny pebbles have been paved on the courtyard floor.
The stairway features the classic combination of wood and glass. The study area in the first landing is compact and saves space too.
The kitchen and the work area are designed as a single hall. The cabinets are done in marine ply with mica finish. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with nano white.
Full length wardrobes and cots that have storage spaces make the bedrooms space efficient. Moreover, attached bathrooms too have been arranged as part of the elegantly furnished bedrooms.
The owner had overseen the construction of the house mostly through WhattsApp messages, emails and video calls as he couldn’t fly down to Kerala owing to the pandemic situation. A friend too was entrusted to supervise the construction by constantly visiting the plot. Nishad reached Kerala only when the house was almost ready for the family to move in. He is proud that his brand new house has become a head turner with its stylish designs and modern amenities.
