Joshy Nadayil and his wife Lisha, both natives of Mevada in Pala had begun planning about their brand – new home as soon as they purchased a plot in Mutholy. They wanted a single storey house as they believed that it would help nourish the warmth and love between the family members. Besides, it would be easier to maintain too.
They roped in noted engineer Sreekanth Pangappadu, who had designed a beautiful single storey house for the couple’s friend, to design their dream abode.
Slanted roof, paved with mud tiles, add a traditional charm to the elevation. Interestingly, GI truss roof has been installed above the flat roof here. The space between the two roofs can be used as a utility area. The two bay windows on the truss roof, open to the east side, bringing in lots of golden sunshine and fresh air.
The long sit-out with the quaint entrance and square pillars grants a majestic look to the elevation that faces the east.
This mesmerizing house has a sit-out, family and formal living areas, dining area, kitchen with a work area, four bedrooms and bathrooms built-in 2500 sqft.
The bedrooms are spacious and have attached bathrooms and in–built wardrobes.
It is easy to maintain the quaint open kitchen. There is a two-seater breakfast table in the kitchen, making it space-efficient. Meanwhile, the work area is spacious. Besides, there is an annex area where a store area, washing space and a utility stair too have been arranged.
Even though the construction got delayed due to the Covid 19 situation, the family is joyous that they could celebrate the housewarming ritual and move into their dream home.
