Anoop’s dream home is tucked into the beautiful countryside of Kavunkal in Alappuzha, Kerala. The family is thrilled to show any visitor around their brand-new house that stands out for its unique designer features.

The family comprises Anoop’s wife, daughter and his parents. The house is built on a plot close to their ancestral home. The owner says that they wanted a house that fits their financial situation as they are commoners. They wished for a regular yet beautiful house with all the amenities. Moreover, they wanted a house that didn’t burn a hole in their pocket. Interestingly, architect Deepak who designed the plan of this house is Anoop’s classmate and close friend.

This single-storey house is simple and exudes the splendid charm of traditional architectural style. Designed in 1600 sqft, this charming abode has a sit-out, living and dining areas, courtyard, three bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen with an adjacent work area. GI truss roof has been installed on the roof. Ceramic tiles are paved on the truss roof with a layer of ceiling tiles beneath it.

The beautiful courtyard is what attracts your attention as soon as you enter the house. The open ceiling brings cool rain showers and golden sunrays into the house. Sturdy grille has been installed here to ensure safety. Meanwhile, provisions have been made to fill and drain this water body.

Vitrified tiles in wooden finish have been paved on the floor in the common areas. Interestingly, it is easier to catch a view of the mesmerizing courtyard from the dining space. A TV unit too is arranged here. The wash area, meanwhile, has been separated to ensure privacy. Besides, there is a common bathroom here.

The kitchen is simple and has been designed in the open theme. Cabinets are done in aluminium finish to reduce the expenses. Washing machine too is placed in the kitchen to save space. PVC ceiling has been done in the bedrooms while the wardrobes here are in ACP finish. The use of concrete and timber was reduced in order to keep a check on the expenses. The family is joyous that their beautiful home is a quaint space of cosiness and warmth.
