With Valentine's Day approaching, the excitement among couples and those in love is palpable. While this occasion is undoubtedly a time to celebrate love, it's equally crucial to stress the importance of respecting personal space and consent. Recognizing this need, the Women & Child Development Department of Kerala has launched a campaign titled #RespectTheReply as a special initiative for Valentine's Day.

Taking to their social media platforms, the WCD shared a post detailing the campaign's objectives. The caption emphasized the fundamental principle that the right to refuse a proposal is as valid as the right to propose one. Furthermore, it underscored the legal repercussions for perpetrating atrocities against individuals who decline romantic advances. The hashtags accompanying the post, including #RespectTheReply, #valentinesdayspecial, #respectherrights, and #respectherspace, further reinforced the campaign's message.

By raising awareness and advocating for respect and consent, especially during romantic pursuits, the campaign aims to foster a safer and more inclusive society for all individuals.
