Here comes the Thrissur 'She lodge!'

Thrissur: Minister A C Moideen officially inaugurated 'She Lodge,' an initiative of Ayyanthol Panchalikkal Corporation. He remarked that the way women are taken care of by the local government has set an example for the state.

The primary aim of the lodge is to provide a safe stay for women who come to the cultural city for various reasons. Mayor Ajitha Jayarajan presided over the meeting. Beena Murali, the deputy mayor presented the by law.

Health standing committee chairperson M L Rosy, DPC member Varghese Kandamkulathy, councillors Rajani Viju, Valsala Baburaj, Ajitha Vijayan, Krishnankutty, development standing committee member, Sheeba Babu, assistant engineer M J Jayaprakash, and Corporation secretary in-charge Vinu C Kunjappan spoke on the occasion.

Safe stay for 50 guests

The lodge is equipped to accommodate 50 guests at a time. Built in three storeys, the lodge has dormitories, independent bedrooms, dining hall, and reading rooms. The total cost of building the lodge was Rs 1.35 crore.
