New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a sharp attack on the Congress on Thursday, accusing it of aligning with the BJP to undermine the Arvind Kejriwal-led party in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, addressing a press conference, alleged that Congress's actions are jeopardising the unity of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

Singh accused Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dixit of siding with the BJP. "Ajay Maken has gone to the extent of calling Arvind Kejriwal anti-national. This is despite Kejriwal campaigning for Congress in previous elections. Meanwhile, the Congress has never filed a single FIR against BJP leaders, yet Kejriwal now faces one," he said.

"We had not said a single word against the Congress during the Haryana election. Yet the Congress seems to be reading out from the BJP's script. Its candidates' list looks as if it was finalised at the BJP office," Singh said.

Atishi added that Congress candidates like Sandeep Dixit and Farhad Suri appear to have BJP backing, casting doubt on Congress's commitment to the INDIA alliance.

AAP demanded disciplinary action against Maken and others within 24 hours, threatening to push for Congress's expulsion from the alliance if no action is taken. We will urge other alliance members to remove Congress," Singh warned. The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February.
