Rahul Gandhi’s ‘H Files’ drop: 25 lakh fake voters in Haryana, Brazilian model’s photo in IDs

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Election Commission (EC) of colluding with the ruling BJP to manipulate the 2024 Haryana assembly election, alleging that over 25 lakh “fake” entries were found in the state’s voter list.
At a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi presented what he called the next “set of proofs” under The H Files, claiming large-scale voter duplication and fake identities. “One in eight voters in Haryana are fake — about 12.5 per cent,” he said.
Displaying examples of alleged voter duplication, Gandhi cited a case where the photograph of a Brazilian model appeared multiple times under different names such as Seema, Sweety and Saraswati across several polling booths. “In one instance, the same photo was used for 223 votes,” he said.
Gandhi accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the two election commissioners of being “in partnership” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that “Operation Sarkar Chori” was carried out to convert a “landslide Congress victory into a loss” in Haryana.
“All exit polls had predicted a Congress win. Even postal ballots showed Congress leading with 73 seats against BJP’s 17, yet the final results showed the BJP ahead. How is that possible?” he asked.
Gandhi also played a video of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who, two days before counting, had said the BJP would win as “arrangements have been made.” “What arrangements?” Gandhi asked, alleging that the EC was “helping the BJP” by not removing duplicate entries.
He further accused the EC of lying about “zero-number houses” being given to homeless voters, calling it an excuse to justify fake addresses in the rolls. Gandhi claimed that BJP workers had cast votes in both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress leader said his findings were based entirely on the EC’s own data and added that he had verified the figures multiple times. “I was in shock when we found this. I want Gen Z to understand this clearly — your future is being stolen,” he said.
Gandhi’s press conference was his third on the issue of alleged “vote chori.” Earlier, he had raised similar claims of voter manipulation in Karnataka’s Mahadevapura and Aland constituencies.
The EC has rejected his allegations as “incorrect and baseless,” asserting that no deletions or additions to the voter list occur without due process.
In the 2024 Haryana election, the BJP won 48 seats, the Congress 37, the INLD two, and independents three in the 90-member Assembly.
