Alappuzha: A 17-year-old girl from Pathanamthitta died of fever in Alappuzha. During the autopsy, it was discovered that she was five months pregnant. It is suspected that she had taken an excessive amount of medication.

The police have filed a case of unnatural death. She died on Monday morning at the Medical College Hospital in Alappuzha, where she was under treatment for her fever.

As per reports, the Plus-Two student had cut her wrist and had damaged her internal organs. Police said her internal organs had been sent for examination. On November 19, the student went on an excursion from school. However, a short distance later, she created a ruckus and said she wanted to return home. As informed by the school authorities, her parents then came and brought her back home. When she started showing fever symptoms, her parents consulted with a doctor at the General Medicine Department of a hospital in Adoor. Later, the teen was shifted to Alappuzha.
