Two cops arrested for operating brothel in Kochi lodge

Kochi: Two policemen were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly running a brothel at a lodge in Kadavanthra. According to Manorama News, the brothel was operated by benamis of the two officers at Dreams Residency, a lodge in Kadavanthra.
The accused are Ramesh, an Assistant Sub-Inspector, and Brijesh, a Civil Police Officer. Addressing the media, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Kadavanthra police station stated that the arrest of a man who had leased the lodge and a woman uncovered the involvement of the two policemen. The SHO confirmed that benamis linked to the officers were managing the lodge-cum-brothel.
“ We recorded their arrest after confirming their involvement in the sex racket. Kollam native Resmi, the key conspirator of the racket was residing in room no: 102 at the lodge. She used to send photographs of girls to customers. Later, she took girls to room no: 103 as per demand,” said Kadavanthra SHO.
The Kadavanthra police conducted a raid at the lodge on October 2, 2024, during which several men and women were arrested for immoral trafficking. The police probe into the sex racket found that money transactions to the bank accounts of the ASI and CPO. Following this, the Kadavanthra police arrested the duo. The two officers were taken into custody following further investigation, and they are currently being interrogated. The probe team added that involvement of more officials are being investigated.
