The mortal remains of Gautam Santosh, the 27-year-old pilot who died in a plane crash in Canada, will be flown to Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The relatives said that documentation has been completed and the mortal remains will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 2.30 am. The body will kept at his home in Poojapura and cremation will be held at Santhikavadom. 

The body was kept at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for Newfoundland and Labrador in the St. John's Health Sciences Centre and was shifted to a funeral home. With the body being charred in the accident, the relatives initially thought of conducting the funeral in Canada, but his mother wished to bring it home and documentation was completed for repatriation. The relatives said that all the expenses for bringing his body home are being borne by Gautam's company. 

Gautam was the lone passenger aboard a twin-engine Piper Navajo plane owned by an aerial survey company crashed near the Trans-Canada Highway near the Deer Lake airport on July 26 at 5.30 pm. The 54-year-old pilot also died in the accident.
