Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Human Rights Commission has directed the Water Authority to conduct an inquiry into the three-day disruption of drinking water supply at the Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud. 

Acting on a suo motu case based on a newspaper report, Commission Chairperson Justice Alexander Thomas ordered the Assistant Executive Engineer to inspect the hospital and ensure immediate restoration of supply. The Executive Engineer has been asked to submit a detailed report at the earliest.

The Commission also instructed the District Medical Officer and the hospital superintendent to furnish details of the hospital’s water storage capacity. Both officials, along with the Assistant Executive Engineer, have been summoned to appear before the Commission on September 11 at 10 am.
