Thiruvanthapuram: N Devakiamma (91), the mother of former opposition leader and Congress working committee member Ramesh Chennithala, has passed away. She was a former member of the Chennithala panchayat. Her husband, Late V Ramakrishna Nair of Chennithala Thripperunthura, Kottur Kizhakethil was a manager and teacher at Chennithala Mahatma High School. The couple has three other children: KR Rajan (former manager at Chennithala Mahatma High School), KR Vijayalakshmi, (retired government school teacher) and KR Prasad (retired Indian Air Force personnel).

Daughters-in-law: Anita Ramesh (retired Development Officer, United India Insurance Company), Sreejaya (retired Additional Registrar, Co-operative Department) and Ambili S Prasad, (retired Assistant Director, All India Radio).

Son-in-law: Late CK Radhakrishnan (retired District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra).

Grandchildren: Dr Rohith Chennithala  (Mookambika Medical College), Ramith Chennithala (Deputy Director, Income Tax Department), Ramya Raj (Teacher), Dr Reshma Raj, Dr Vishnu R Krishnan (PRS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram), Lakshmi Krishna (United States), Pranav P Nair (Scientist at BARC, Mumbai), Aditya Krishna (Yoga Instructor).

The funeral rites will be performed at noon on Tuesday at the Chennithala family residence.
