Idukki: Thodupuzha police arrested a man with MDMA and hashish oil here on Thursday night. The accused, identified as Nedukandathil Rasheed from Pattayam Kavala, is a building contractor. He was caught with 5 grams of MDMA and 0.23 grams of hashish oil.

Police said Rasheed was supplying synthetic drugs among high-profile circles and had been under surveillance for days. Acting on a tip-off, the anti-narcotics squad led by the DySP raided a private lodge where Rasheed had rented a room for drug transactions.

A woman found with him was released after police confirmed she had no role in the case. Rasheed was produced before the court and remanded in custody.
