Kottayam: Three singers from three different generations of the same family have achieved a rare distinction in music.

By appearing for the graded practical music examination conducted by Trinity College London, 65-year-old K G Mammen of Kochuveettil, Thodupuzha, his 38-year-old daughter Jenu Mammen, and his 10-year-old granddaughter Hanna Deepa together accomplished this remarkable feat.

The examinations were held at the Harp N Lyre Music Academy in Kottayam, a recognised examination centre of Trinity College London. Michael Newman, who arrived from England to supervise the practical examinations, congratulated K G Mammen and his family on the achievement.

All three secured high grades in Western classical music. They trained under music teachers Varun Mathew Idiculla and Sruthi Akka John.
