Alappuzha: Moved by the plight of his elderly neighbours who struggle to afford even a single dose of medicine, a 12-year-old boy from Alappuzha is set to take his protest to the corridors of power.

Beginning Tuesday, Goodman (12) will sit in satyagraha in front of the Government Secretariat, demanding that the old-age pension be increased to ₹4,000. Goodman is the son of Bonnie Sebastian and Catherine Joseph of Kochikkaran House, Chettikad, Alappuzha.

Goodman first came to public attention at the age of six when he staged a lone protest against a malfunctioning traffic signal at the Kalarcode junction on the National Highway, which had led to frequent accidents. Since then, he has continued to speak out and intervene on several public issues affecting the community.
