Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni won hearts by meeting a specially abled fan just before the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and West Indies, here on Thursday.

The gesture from the former Indian captain has melted the hearts of fans. A video of the meeting also went viral.

On his way to the Greenfield International Stadium, Dhoni was made aware of the fan waiting for him. He met Laiju, who took his hand and kissed him. The two-time World Cup winning captain posed for photos with the fan.

Team India then won the final ODI as they thrashed the Windies by nine wickets and clinched the series 3-1.

This was also Dhoni's last ODI this year as he will next feature for the Men in Blue next year in the ODI series against Australia. He has been left out of the T20I squads for both the upcoming West Indies and the Australia series with Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant roped in as wicket-keeping options.
