Tendulkar gets nostalgic with Kambli ahead of Friendship Day

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar got nostalgic ahead of the Friendship Day as he shared a picture of himself and close friend Vinod Kambli from their school days on Twitter.

“Kamblya, found this photo of ours from our school days. Memories came rushing back and thought of sharing this,” tweeted Tendulkar.

Kambli was quick to remind Tendulkar a funny incident from their playing days when a kite fell on the pitch while they were batting in a school game.

Kambli took the kite and started flying it which did not amuse their coach the late Ramakant Achrekar one bit.

Tendulkar retweeted that he missed their playing days and asked Kambli to come over to his place to have some fun.

Tendulkar and Kambli shot into prominence after they shared a world record 664-run partnership while playing for Shardashram Vidya Mandir against St Xavier's in a Harris Shield inter-school match on February 24, 1988.

Tendulkar made his international debut in 1989, while Kambli first played for India a couple of years later.
