Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pulled off a thrilling one-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in an IPL 2024 match at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday. Chasing a target of 223, RCB were bowled out for 221 in exactly 20 overs.

KKR jumped to second spot in the standings with 10 points from seven games, while RCB remain at the bottom with just two points from eight outings.

KKR all-rounder Andre Russell was named player of the match for his 24 and 3/25.

RCB lower-order batter Karn Sharma's last over heroics, when he smashed Mitchell Starc for three sixes, went in vain.

Will Jacks (55) and Rajat Patidar (52) too fought hard for RCB. RCB talisman Virat Kohli fell for 18 after a debatable decision.

RCB next meet Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, while KKR clash with Punjab Kings on Friday.
