Bhubaneswar: Hosts India bowed out of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a 0-5 defeat to Brazil in concluding Group A encounter at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

India failed to win any of their three group matches, scoring none and conceding 16 goals.

The Brazilians dominated the game with their physicality and skill. However, India managed to threaten the visitors' goal on a few occasions.

Neha had a chance in the 31st minute when she ran at the Brazilian defence on a counter. But with Grazy attempting to stop her advance, Neha hurried a shot that was collected by Leilane.

Gabi Berchon had put Brazil ahead with an attack that was launched by Aline, the attacking midfielder who plays for SC Internacional, who provided the assist after skipping past Astam Oraon.

Ana Flavia showed some lovely footwork before setting up Aline for Brazil's second shortly before half-time.

In the second half, India conceded the third goal within six minutes of the start as Aline’s strong shot from a distance beat Melody. Four minutes from close, substitute Lara scored the fourth goal and she found the mark again in added time.

Result: Brazil 5 (Gabi Berchon 11, Aline 40, 51, Lara 86, 90+3) bt India 0
