Kochi: Indications are that Kerala Blasters captain Adrian Luna may miss the rest of the Indian Super League (ISL) season after undergoing a knee surgery.

It will take at least three months for Luna, who underwent surgery in Mumbai, to return to the field, it is learnt. However, by then, the ISL season would have got over.

Luna experienced knee pain a few days ago during a practice session. The surgery was conducted after medical examinations.

Blasters are attempting to fill the void created by the Uruguayan playmaker's absence by using the January transfer window to recruit foreign players.

Since the renewal of contract with Australian striker Jaushua Sotirio, who suffered an injury even before entering the field, seems unlikely, Blasters are also looking to bring in a foreign striker. However, there is concern that quality players may not be available during the active season.
