Despite being knocked out of the tournament, NorthEast United FC ended their Super Cup with back-to-back wins. The Highlanders secured a 4-1 victory against Kerala Blasters courtesy goals from Parthib Gogoi, Mohammed Ali Bemammer, Redeem Tlang, and Jithin M.S.

NorthEast United FC broke the deadlock just after the kickoff with Gogoi’s early goal. The young winger found plenty of space behind Kerala Blasters FC’s defense line with his rapid speed. Though both sides had a few chances in the opening half, Gogoi’s strike was the only difference by the end of the first half.

Juan Pedro Benali’s men continued their attacking moves as they were desperate to double the lead. It was Bemammer who found the back of the net with his low-driven free kick.

Dimitrios Diamantakos pulled one goal back for the Blasters in the 70th minute, but the Yellow Army could not bounce back into this game as the Highlanders scored another two goals to achieve the victory with a sustainable lead.

Tlang regained the two-goal lead in the 75th minute for NorthEast United FC with his powerful strike outside the box. In the 80th minute, Jithin seized the victory for Benali’s side, looping the ball into an empty net by dribbling past Sachin Suresh.
