Kochi Blue Spikers suffered their second defeat of the Prime Volleyball League after going down 0-3 to Chennai Blitz in Chennai on Tuesday.

The Blitz' Malayali blocker Akhin G S was the player-of-the-match as they won 15-10, 15-12, 16-14. The Blue Spikers had lost 1-3 to Calicut Heroes in their opener last week.

The Spikers had started well with Abhinav scoring off a spike and then from a block. Aman Kumar's aggression forced the Blitz on to the backfoot but they bounced back with Dhilip Kumar and Leandro Jose leading the charge.

The Blue Spikers' poor defence and Akhin's blocks helped Blitz take control of the game. Erin Varghese's attacks and libero Ratheesh's digs were not sufficient for the visitors.

The Blue Spikers next play Bengaluru Torpedoes on February 23. The same day, the Heroes will take on Delhi Toofans.
