Kerala secured a pair of bronze medals on the third day of the Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

In men's triple jump, Muhammed Anees Yahiya finished third with a best effort of 7.81m. He finished behind Tamil Nadu's Jeswin Aldrin (7.99m) and Arya S of Karnataka (7.83m). Kerala missed its best long jumper Sreeshankar M, who is recovering after a surgery.

The other bronze medal on the day came in women's pole vault where Mariya Jaison did a best of 3.90 m. Tamil Nadu pair of Rosy Meena Paulraj and Baranica Elangovan took gold (4.05m) and silver (4.00) respectively.

Meanwhile, Kerala's Muhammed Ajmal and Rince Joseph qualified for the final of men's 400m that will be held on Wednesday. Delhi's Malayali runner Amoj Jacob is also among the finalists. Kerala's Jisna Mathew and Vismaya V K will participate in the women's 400m final.

Commonwealth Games medalists, Eldhose Paul and Abdulla Aboobacker will compete in the men's triple jump final on Wednesday.
