The Alumni of SAI Calicut (ASAIC) has invited entries from sports clubs and academies requiring equipment-support.

"Entries are invited from school clubs and sports academies training children for more than three years. Those selected will be provided with quality equpiment for training purposes," ASAIC said in a press release.

ASAIC comprises a host of former trainees of the Sports Authority of India centre in Kozhikode, including ex-captain of Indian men's volleyball team, Tom Joseph and basketball international Murali Krishna.

“Last year, we provided equipment worth Rs 10 lakh to select academies, in addition to giving a monthly financial assistance to a young athlete. We plan to continue the support through the alumni association,” said Lijo John, Centre-in-charge, SAI, Calicut.
